Surgical Second Opinion. Bring your estimate and your pet's records.

The doctor will examine your pet, review the plan you were given, and walk you through what he sees.

Sometimes we agree with the original recommendation. Sometimes the procedure can be done here for less. And sometimes the right answer is to wait, or not to operate at all.

Either way, you'll leave understanding your pet's situation.

How a Second Opinion Works

  • 1. Call or book. Tell us what procedure was recommended.

  • 2. Send or bring your estimate. Text it, email it, or bring the printout. Include any imaging and bloodwork.

  • 3. The doctor examines your pet. In person, not from paperwork alone.

  • 4. You get a straight answer.. What the options are, what each costs, and the risks of each, including doing nothing.

  • 5. You decide. No pressure, and no obligation to transfer your pet's care.

Many owners keep their regular veterinarian and come to us only for the surgery. We'll coordinate records both ways.

FAQs

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book directly.

How quickly can my pet be seen?

Most second-opinion consults are scheduled within the week.
If the case is time-sensitive, say so when you call and we'll prioritize it.

What if my pet needs care after hours?

Our hospital is open Monday through Saturday, and our doctors are reachable for post-surgical patients.

What can go wrong, and can you handle it?

Every surgery carries risk. The doctor will walk you through the specific risks for your pet's procedure before you decide. Complications are managed here, by the doctor who performed the procedure.

My pet was diagnosed at an emergency hospital. Can you take over?

Often, yes. Bring the records, imaging and estimate.

What should I bring?

Your estimate, previous records, any imaging on disc or by email, and a list of current medications.
